We were recently asked by a member what a typical day at One Stop racing is like and now we have it written out it makes sense to share it with you all so here is the end result. A day in the life of One Stop Racing.

Race Cards and Ratings

At approximately 3pm daily, raw data for the next day’s race cards is loaded onto our servers. Once on our servers the magic begins we sprinkle this new data with fairy dust and crunch the numbers analysing each race to the nth degree.

The data goes through a multitude of algorithms looking at the many different components that can affect the outcome of a given race these include but are not exclusive to:

  • Horse form, both recent and historical
  • Race class
  • Race conditions
  • Draw data
  • Historical results of races under similar conditions (our archive goes back to 1997)
  • Jockey Form
  • Trainer Form

One the data has been well and truly crunched each horse in each race is allocated 4 separate ratings, these are:

  • LR – Last Race
  • HS – Horse Score
  • SR – Speed Rating
  • OSR – One Stop Rating (this is our master rating).

The Race Cards and Ratings for the following day’s racing are then generated.

The difference between the new Race Card and the one from the raw data is that the OSR Number is now on the race card too.

After a quick check though to make sure there are no abnormalities these Race Cards and Ratings are published on the One Stop Racing Website.

On the Ratings page there are also 4 tables which are published at the same time. These 4 tables show:

  • All horses top ranked on OSR with an OSR 40 points or more above the second ranked horse. We consider these to be possible “Win” bets.
  • All horses top ranked on OSR with an OSR between 1 and 5 points more than the second ranked horse. We consider these to be possible “Lay” bets.
  • The top ranked horses in all the day’s non-handicap races, with points clear on OSR.
  • The top ranked horses in all the day’s handicap races, with points clear on OSR.

At this point an email is then sent to every member of One Stop Racing this contains links to the live Race Cards and Ratings plus the next day’s possible Bets and Lays based on OSR. This email is generally sent before 6pm each evening.

Systems

At around 6am our servers receive a data file containing “Early Odds” for all of the day’s racing these can differ a fair bit from the “Forecast Odds” that were included in the original data.

At this point there is more crunching of data and the race cards along with these early odds are sent though a series of filters to produce the System Qualifiers for that day. We are currently using over 50 systems although not all of these produce daily qualifiers.

These are in 2 separate categories:

  • Back Systems – horses that have a fair chance of winning or at least being placed.
  • Lay Systems – horses that are expected to lose.

At this point another program is then run which cross references the “Back Systems” Qualifiers with the Ratings to provide what we call the Golden Systems, Silver Systems, Bronze Systems and Other Systems.

There is always a quick check though this data in case there are any abnormalities before the systems are published on the One Stop Racing Website.

On the publish Systems page there are 6 sections:

  • All Back Systems
  • All Lay Systems
  • Golden Systems – Back system qualifiers that are top ranked on OSR
  • Silver Systems – Back system qualifiers that are second ranked on OSR
  • Bronze Systems – Back system qualifiers that are third ranked on OSR
  • Other Systems – Back system qualifiers that are not top three ranked on OSR.

Here is a typical Systems page : Horse Racing Systems – Thursday 8th September

At this point an email is sent to all Full Members this generally includes:

  • The previous day’s roundup
  • The Golden Systems.
  • A link to the full systems page
  • Daily tips produced by our resident tipster who uses all the resources provided by One Stop Racing to make his final selections
  • Links to the current Race Cards and Ratings pages

A similar email with the exception of the Systems information is sent to Race Cards Members and Ratings Members. These emails are usually sent before 9am although on busy days they can be as late as 11am.
