System 201 is the newest back system in the One Stop Racing app. It looks for the horse with the highest Speed Rating (SR) in a GB or Irish non-handicap that is priced between 10/1 and 20/1 in the morning. It was built from the data we have recorded since the app launched on 3 August 2026. Across 144 qualifiers it has found 18 winners, and at 1pt level stakes it is +114 points to early prices and +97.5 points to SP.

Why we built System 201

Every rating in the app has been recorded and settled every day since launch on 3 August 2026. That includes the One Stop Rating (OSR), Last Run figure (LR), Horse Score (HS), Speed Rating (SR) and Official Rating (OR). After nearly three months of results, one pattern kept coming up. In non-handicaps, the SR top-rated horse was often overlooked by the market. It went off at a double-figure price far more often than its ability suggested it should.

Non-handicaps suit a speed figure because the weights do not level the field. If one horse has run faster than the rest, it gets no extra weight to hold it back. The market tends to follow trainer, jockey and reputation, and a lightly raced horse with a strong speed figure can be missed. System 201 is our way of catching those horses.

How System 201 works

The rules are simple and fixed. A horse qualifies when all of these are true:

  1. GB or Irish racing only. Overseas meetings are excluded.
  2. Non-handicap races only. This covers maidens, novices, conditions races, Listed and Group races, bumpers, and non-handicap hurdles and chases.
  3. Top Speed Rating in the race. We take the highest SR among the declared runners after non-runners are removed. If two horses share the top SR, both qualify.
  4. Priced 10/1 to 20/1 at 07:15. The price is taken from the early market at 07:15 on the morning of the race. Anything shorter than 10/1 or bigger than 20/1 is left out.

The selections are fixed when the day’s card is locked in the morning. A later non-runner cannot promote a different horse into the system. Each qualifier appears in the All Systems grid with the label “(201) SR Non-Handicaps 10/1-20/1”.

System 201 results: 3 August to 30 October 2026

All figures are to 1pt win stakes. Non-runners and abandoned races are void. “Early” uses the 07:15 price, “SP” uses the starting price and “BOG” uses whichever of the two is bigger.

Period Bets Winners Strike rate Early (pts) SP (pts) BOG (pts)
August 31 4 12.9% +21.0 +19.0 +21.0
September 56 7 12.5% +43.0 +40.5 +79.0
October (to 30th) 57 7 12.3% +50.0 +38.0 +66.0
Total 144 18 12.5% +114.0 +97.5 +166.0

That is a return on investment of 79% to early prices, 68% to SP and 115% to BOG. Every month has been in profit. The strike rate has stayed steady at about one winner in eight, which is what you would hope for from horses priced between 10/1 and 20/1.

Flat v National Hunt

Code Bets Winners Strike rate Early (pts) SP (pts)
Flat and All-Weather 98 11 11.2% +45.0 +47.0
National Hunt (incl. bumpers) 46 7 15.2% +69.0 +50.5

Both codes are profitable. The jumps side has the higher strike rate, which is understandable as the National Hunt season gathers pace through the autumn.

Is it just a few big winners?

We always check this. If you remove the three biggest early-price winners, System 201 is still +56 points to early prices and +64.5 points to SP from 141 bets. The profit is spread across the 18 winners rather than resting on one lucky result.

Using System 201 with the ratings

System 201 works best as a value angle rather than a bet in every race. A few tips:

  • Take the early price where you can. Several winners were backed in heavily during the day. Ryefield Dasher, Coastal Wonder and Saint Mungo all went off at 3/1 or shorter. Getting on at 07:15 prices, or with a bookmaker offering Best Odds Guaranteed, has made a big difference.
  • Check the other columns. If the SR top-rated horse also rates well on OSR, LR or HS, it has more going for it than a speed figure alone.
  • Stake sensibly. At these prices, long losing runs are normal. The longest so far has been 20 bets in a row. Level stakes and patience are essential.
