History was made today at Aintree when Minella Times carried Rachael Blackmore into the history books as the first lady jockey to win the Grand National.
In the post race interview the an ecstatic Rachael Blackmore said:
“It was a sensational spin…it’s unbelievable. He was incredible, jumped beautifully…when we jumped the last and I asked him for a bit he was there. It’s just incredible.”
Minella times is trained by Henry De Bromhead and owned by JP McManus.
Bryony Frost was taken to hospital after unseating on Yala Enki.
Long Mile, in the same ownership as the winner sadly passed away following an injury in race. Our thoughts are with connections at this difficult time.
